I have the pleasure of crafting the permanent collection of Amande Haeghen, an artist whose work bridges the worlds of sculpture and design with extraordinary sensitivity. This collection, entirely conceived and created by Amande, is a deeply personal expression of her vision: an exploration of form, balance, and the delicate tension between strength and fragility.

Nature is at the heart of Amande’s inspiration. The landscapes of her childhood, the Arcachon Basin, the Dune du Pyla, and more recently, the Portuguese coast, have left a lasting imprint on her aesthetic. But her work also draws from the evolving relationship she has with her own body and femininity, which continues to shape her creative language over time.

Each piece in this her collection is handcrafted using multiple colors of stoneware, some combined with melted glass that settles into soft, luminous forms. Amande sculpts without molds, allowing the materials to guide the process. The result is a series of one-of-a-kind objects that seem to hold movement, emotion, and memory within them, each a reflection of her intention to capture the fleeting motion of movement and emotion.

This collection is produced in close collaboration and is made entirely by hand, one piece at a time. Her studio in Lisbon, the House of Haeg, serves as both her permanent creative base and a space of artistic residency, dedicated to the ongoing exploration of ceramics and glass.
