Black Dahlia Wall Lamp is a rare and intimate creation, more like a sculptural memory than repeatable design. Entirely handcrafted in black stoneware, the piece required nearly 60 hours to complete. Each petal was shaped by hand and individually attached to a clay structure, forming a voluminous bloom that appears to gently unfold from the wall.

The dahlia, a flower symbolizing gratitude, joy, and love, serves as both inspiration and tribute. This piece is named in honor of Dahlia, Amande Haeghen’s childhood confidante, and much like her, it embodies a quiet tenderness, pages of shared memories layered petal by petal, creating a luminous presence rooted in emotion.

Brought to life as a special commission for Amande, whose poetic sensibility toward material and form deeply resonates with my own, this lamp stands as a rare and exceptional piece within her collection. Given the intricate and time-intensive process behind its making, it may only emerge on rare occasions, when time and intention align.
